Hilary gave a very knowledgeable and relevant presentation. She strives to get the image right in the camera and no relies on Photoshop to create a beautiful image. When checking out her website I found her photographs to tell a story and very natural images relying on natural light. Her presentation was extremely useful as one day I would be interested at shooting weddings. Below is some notes from her presentation.

Starting off
- Yellow pages ad ($2000)
- Got a 1300 number
- Got a brand
- Corporate ID
- Wanted to be a top end photographer and replace Heide Smith
- Used all AIPP awards to promote
- Got editorial work published

Marketing
- Joined chamber of women in business
- Networking eg. Wedding fairs
- Exhibition

Get a good book keeper

- Equipment purchases
- Maintenance
- Car
- Insurance
- Staff – subbies/books
- Rent office
- Admin
- Accounting
- Electricity/Amenities
- Samples/portfolios

- Printing/wages/profit

- Works school hours (has kids)
